2019 Pathways to Career Readiness Symposium

Pathways to Career Readiness: An Education and Workforce Development Symposium will be held February 14 and 15, 2019 at the Hershey Lodge and Convention Center.  The twenty ninth annual symposium will begin at 12:30 p.m. on February 14, 20018 and will conclude at noon on February 15, 2019.


Symposium Description:Students entering the workforce of tomorrow will face challenges much different than workers of the past.  These challenges will impact new workers whether they enter the workforce directly from high school or after earning a two- or four-year degree.  Schools and workforce agencies must work to develop new pathways to help students.  Local, state and national leaders will present best practices to help students be career ready.


Sponsors:The Symposium is being sponsored by the Pennsylvania Association of Career and Technical Administrators and the National Center for College and Career Transition in cooperation with the Pennsylvania Department of Education, the Pennsylvania Department of Community and Economic Development, the Pennsylvania Department of Labor and Industry, the Pennsylvania State System of Higher Education, the Pennsylvania Workforce Development Association, the Pennsylvania Association of Career and Technical Education, the Community Action Association of Pennsylvania, the Pennsylvania Association of Private School Administrators, the Pennsylvania Commission for Community Colleges, and Ben Franklin Technology Partners. 


Symposium participants will be awarded up to eight hours of Act 48 credit.

The cost of registration for the symposium is $180 per person.  Checks should be made payable to PACTA.  Dinner on February 14, a continental breakfast on February 15, refreshment breaks and conference materials are included in the registration fee.  One-day registrations are available at a cost of $95.  The registration deadline is January 23, 2019.
