WELDING TECHNOLOGY INSTRUCTOR

The Welding Technology program prepares individuals to apply technical knowledge and skills to join or cut metal surfaces. Includes instruction in arc welding, resistance welding, brazing and soldering, cutting, high-energy beam welding and cutting, solid state welding, ferrous and non-ferrous materials, oxidation-reduction reactions, welding metallurgy, welding processes and heat treating, structural design, safety, and applicable codes and standards.


The successful candidate must possess communication skills which will be required to convey the description, purpose, requirements, course prerequisites, curriculum and student responsibilities of the Welding program to students, parents, educators, and the general public.

2022-2023 School Year


SALARY & BENEFITS:

Salary will commensurate with education and experience and will be determined in accordance with the current teacher salary schedule.    Benefits include family health insurance, term life insurance, long term disability insurance and retirement.


LEVEL:

Grades 10, 11 & 12

      

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Candidates must hold a high school diploma and have a minimum of 4 years or 8000 hours of paid work experience..  The documented vocational related work experience must be related to the area of Welding.

  • Candidates must be willing to enroll with an approved teacher certification program to become certified with the Department of Education as a vocational instructor.  (Occupational Competency Assessment (OCA) in Welding 2079 (CIP # 48.05808)

  • Current Act 24, 34, 114, and 151 clearances (dated within one (1) year) and Act 168 Disclosure Releases (all required forms are available on the website www.ctclc.edu on the home page located under About CTCLC on the Employment Tab)

  • Pre-Employment Drug Screening.
