The purpose of this position is to lead and direct the planning, supervision, development, and evaluation of the total operation of the secondary division of the school in accordance with the policies and philosophies of the Lancaster County Career & Technology Center and PDE.  Plans, organizes and directs the total educational and administrative functions of the secondary education division. Responsible for the interaction within the business and industry community and other specific programs authorized by the Administrative Director.  Assumes the responsibility of the total school program in the absence of the Administrative Director.

Qualifications: 

  • Masters degree in related field
  • Vocational Director’s Certificate or the following: Superintendent Letter of Eligibility or Principal Certificate
  • 3+ years’ experience at the Assistant Director, Director or Principal level.
  • CTE experience preferred.
  • Demonstrated experience with support services for special populations.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Excellent computer skills including Microsoft Office
  • Valid Driver's license
  • Child Abuse, PA Criminal, and FBI clearances dated within one (1) year of start date; ability to obtain required physical and TB test prior to start date.


Duties and Responsibilities: (For full details, see attached job description)
Instructional Leadership

  • As the chief academic officer for secondary programming provide oversight and supervision for secondary programs, curriculum, services, and instruction.
  • Induct, supervise, mentor, and develop secondary education staff to achieve reflective teacher practice.
  • Facilitate the LCCTC Professional Development and Induction plans in conjunction with the Administrative Team and under the direction of the Administrative Director.
  • Develop and lead faculty and administration induction and mentor programs.
  • Facilitate the LCCTC Professional Development Committee
  • Evaluate and supervise secondary administration and other direct reports.
  • Responsible for the development, oversight and monitoring of the LCCTC strategic and comprehensive plan(s).
  • Plan, development, implement, and evaluate professional development activities for faculty and staff.
  • Manage and improve instruction through the development and evaluation of specific data sets
  • Develop and implement new programming options for secondary students.
  • Provide oversight and leadership of educational services to all students including student services, student management systems, and secondary accreditation and curriculum.
  • Oversee program approvals and CATS process.
  • Oversee the planning, development, program approval and implementation of curriculum for a new or revised program of study as well as ongoing review of curriculum.
  • Collaborate with sending schools on curriculum projects, such as career pathways articulation agreements, dual enrollment, and student remediation.
  • Oversee coordination of student activities including career camps, articulation, dual enrollment, career pathways, and other transition activities sending school.
  • Assist with development and oversight of the LCCTC Administrative Team

 
Community & Public Relations

  • Work with students, parents/guardians, sending school districts, Workforce Development Board, Lancaster Chamber, Occupational Advisory Committees and other stakeholders to develop and improve programs that meet the needs of the community.
  • Establishes partnerships with area apprenticeship, technical college and associate degree programs
  • Works with local business and industry in support of workforce and economic development.

 
Finance & Facilities

  • Strategic planning for school improvement.
  • Planning budget and resource allocation including management of the financial activities for the secondary education operations of the school; review of all fiscal and physical plant requests; and recommendations to the Administrative Director and Business Manager during budget preparation
  • Write and manage various grants and grant projects that support the LCCTC

Salary:
$102,695 - $123,234 annual; based on experience and education (FY 22/23)

Schedule:
Monday- Friday; 40 hours per week; 260 days per year
