At the present time, a vacancy for a Director, Practical Nursing Program exists at the Lancaster County Career & Technology Center.  The Director, Practical Nursing Program is responsible for the overall operation of the PN Program at Lancaster County Career & Technology Center. 

Qualifications: 

  • MSN
  • Current PA RN licensure
  • 8 + years of experience
  • Previous Nursing Education Experience preferred
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Valid PA Driver’s License


Essential Responsibilities:(For full details, see attached job description)

Program Management

  • Oversee the total program in accordance with school policies and procedures
  • Organizes the faculty to allow for maximum efficiency and effectiveness for the nursing program
  • Encourage and maintain good working relationships between the Practical Nursing Program and cooperating clinical agencies
  • Develop and maintain open channels of communication between the faculty and school administration
  • Provide for the recruitment, evaluation, retention, and graduation of qualified students
  • Assumes administrative responsibility for all official school functions involving the Practical Nursing Program
  • Counsel students
  • Resolves problems within the nursing program
  • Assume responsibility for the physical facilities of the practical nursing program
  • Assume responsibility for public relations for the nursing program
  • Serve as Chairman of faculty organization and as ex-officio member on other program committees
  • Oversees reports to State Board and National Accrediting Agencies
  • Maintain a strong emphasis on growth and the key role of education; lead by example by pursuing professional growth through participation in seminars, workshops, professional meetings, and faculty in-services

Financial Management

  • Prepare and administer the annual program budget
  • Investigate available grants and submit requests for consideration
  • Oversee purchase requests for equipment and supplies for the Practical Nursing Program
  • Oversee student billing to provide adequate tuition income for the program
  • Assures that financial decisions are made to allow the program to be self sufficient in addition to providing possible funding revenues to other school functions.

Staff Management

  • Evaluate and anticipate knowledge and skill needs and insure appropriate staffing levels to meet them
  • Participates in selecting and maintaining a competent faculty and staff
  • Observes and evaluates individual faculty and staff


Salary:
$85,383-$102,460 annual; based on experience and education

Schedule:
Monday- Friday; 40 hours per week or time required to complete responsibilities; 260 days per year
