The Health Occupations Technology Instructor prepares individuals for entry-level employment in a minimum of three related health occupations under the supervision of a licensed healthcare professional. Instruction consists of core course content with clinical experiences in one or two health related occupations. The core curriculum consists of planned courses for introduction of health careers, basic anatomy and physiology, medical terminology, legal and ethical aspects of healthcare and communications and at least three planned courses for the knowledge and skills for the occupational area such as medical assisting, ward clerk, nursing assisting, etc.


2021-2022 School Year


Salary will commensurate with education and experience and will be determined in accordance with the current teacher salary schedule.    Benefits include family health insurance, term life insurance, long term disability insurance and retirement.


Grades 10, 11 & 12



  • Graduate of an approved school of professional nursing.

  • BS in Nursing preferred

  • Current unrestricted licensed as an RN in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania.

  • Minimum of five (5) years of experience in the nursing profession.

  • Red Cross or American Heart Association First Aid/CPR/AED Instructor.

  • PDE teaching certificate preferred or willing to enroll with an approved teacher certification program to become certified with the Department of Education as a vocational instructor.

  • Have passed or be willing to take and pass the Occupational Competency Assessment in Health Assistant 2202 (CIP 51.0899) administered by an approved institution.

  • Current Act 24, 34, 114, and 151 clearances (dated within one (1) year) and Act 168 Disclosure Releases. 

  • Pre-Employment Drug Screening.


Screening will begin immediately and continue until the position is filled.
