Career & Technical Education Executive Director

Berks Career & Technology Center (BCTC), is a leading, innovative, accomplished, Middle States and ISO-9001 accredited career and technical education system that provides high-quality education and career preparation to meet the needs of today’s high school students and adults. The Center serves 16 public school districts, numerous nonpublic schools, and the citizens and businesses of the Berks County area. The Center has two Campuses (Leesport and Oley) and is governed by a Joint Operating Committee (JOC) comprised of school directors from each of the 16 sponsoring school districts.


BCTC’s JOC is actively searching to secure the most qualified candidate to serve as the next Executive Director to continue the Vision and Mission of BCTC. The successful candidate will demonstrate strong, dynamic and equity focused leadership qualities with unquestioned integrity. In addition, the successful candidate will inspire, guide, and direct the administrative, instructional and support staff in setting and achieving the highest standards of excellence, so each student enrolled in BCTC may be provided with a complete, valuable, meaningful, and personally rewarding education.




  • A valid PA Vocational Administrative Director Certification.  
  • An earned Doctorate in Educational Leadership preferred.
  • Previous demonstrated experience in Career and Technical Education Central Office leadership preferred.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.




  • Leadership – Direct the development of the BCTC philosophy in the best interest of a high-quality education program. Make an impact, knowing when to lead, when to listen, and when to collaborate. Foster a positive school climate and culture. Make informed decisions based on BCTC’s mission and continuous improvement model through data and analytics. Drive diversity, equity, and inclusion through cultural fluency.  
  • Financial – Fiscally responsible to plan and direct the development of comprehensive budgets for the operation of programs and services within the guidelines established by the JOC of BCTC.
  • Community – Forge collaborative relationships and communicate effectively with stakeholders, including students, families, instructors, administrators, staff, collective bargaining associations, the media, professional networks, legislative advocates, community organizations, community members and business of the Berks county area.
  • General -Contribute to a healthy and productive working relationship with the Joint Operating Committee, to whom the successful candidate will report. Create performance goals and deliver measurable results, with support from the JOC.
