Machine Tool Technology/Machinist Teacher:

Type: full-time

A full-time teaching position is available beginning the 2021-2022 School Year at Keystone Central School District Career and Technology Center located in Mill Hall, PA. 

A Machine Tool Technology/Machinist Teacher prepares individuals to apply technical knowledge and skills in all aspects of shaping metal parts. Instruction involves making computations relating to work dimensions, tooling and feeds and speeds of machining. Emphasis is placed upon bench work and the operation of lathes, power saws, shapers, milling machines, grinders, drills and computer operated equipment (CNC and CIM). Instruction also includes the use of precision measuring instruments such as layout tools, micrometers and gauges; methods of machining and heat treatment of various metals; blueprint reading; and the layout of machine parts. Instruction prepares students to operate all types of hand and computer controlled machines.
The successful candidate shall have an innovative and creative aptitude as demonstrated through work, personal or hands-on activities; a willingness to pursue and maintain industry recognized credentials and/or certification including participation in technical seminars, workshops, and classes related to the occupation; and possess excellent communication skills.
Prior work with high school students a plus, but not required. Act 34, 151, & 114 clearances required upon hire.
