Berks Career & Technology Center is looking for a permanent full-time (10-month/year) Building Construction Occupations Instructor at our Oley (East Campus) location effective immediately.
This position will provide quality occupational instruction to secondary career and technical students that will prepare them in the basics of several building trades including carpentry, metal fabrication, interior finishes, masonry, plumbing, and electricity.
The selected candidate must possess the following PDE certificate: Construction Trades, CIP Code: 46.9999 (Technology Education 6075 or Building Construction Trades 2014) or have the following qualifications to obtain the required certificate: Five plus years of recent full-time wage-earning work experience beyond the training period in the area of construction work. Experience in rough and finish carpentry, constructing houses, and commercial construction knowledge preferred. Responsible for working as a team to construct a student-built house. Must complete PDE required course work and certification process, if not already certified. Must possess good verbal and written communication skills and the ability to manage and motivate high school students.
