Certification Bargaining Unit: ASFCME Prepared by: Center for Professional Development in CTE Reviewed by: HR Approved by: Department Date: June 2020 Summary of Position The Center for Professional Development in Career and Technical Education (CTE) in the College of Education is a grant-funded program charged with delivering field-based teacher education programming in a specialized setting. The full-time Field Resource Associate (FRA) is a grant-funded position within the CTE Center at the College of Education and this employee is required feedback from interns, school administrators and supervisors. The purpose of this job is to act as a liaison between the Temple CTE Center and the school community, provide consistent support for each Teacher Intern as they navigate through the certification process, keep the school communities updated on all information from the Center and related information from PDE, act as first line of contact/resource for their assigned cohort of schools and community. Develop strong partnership with school administrator and intern teachers and maintain professional demeanor and communication at all times. The quality of the services provided to interns will be reflected in the intern’s progress toward certification. S/he will also perform other duties associated with interns’ on-boarding process and will interface routinely with adjuncts and instructional coaches to discuss and troubleshoot issues pertaining to interns progress. S/he will report directly to the Director of Curriculum and Vocational Certification and will perform other duties as assigned Essential Functions of Position Temple University Position Description Revised April 2002 Page 2 of 3  Serve as Temple’s liaison in the CTE School community and disseminate information to CTE students and administrators as needed  Microsoft, canvas, google, zoom and other various platforms are used regularly.  Monitor new CTE teacher interns and provide individualized support to all CTE teacher interns in the Career and Technical certification program.  Responsible to establish and maintain a working relationship with the administration and instructional coaches at assigned schools  Maintain regular check-ins with school administrators or designees, Contacts will include face-to-face meetings, zoom, emails, phone call, outreach sessions, etc. with an administrator or a designee.  Work closely with the CTE Advisors to support Interns. Advising sheets will be developed and shared.  Develop and maintain a close working relationship with the adjuncts to deepen the scope of support for the teacher interns. FRA will assist adjunct with underperforming teacher interns.  All observations and meetings with intern teachers must happen at the teacher’s worksite.  Keep Intern contact logs and up to date files for each of their assigned schools/students. All files must be kept current and in the secure drive.  Act as student teacher coach and complete student teaching observation reports  Coordinate and implement performance assessments (IPA, COE, SPA)  Contribute to the quarterly newsletter and updates on website  Participate in curriculum and other focus groups  Attend and participate in Center activities, PDE conferences and other professional development  Take active role in the planning and implementation of the pre-induction activities for the New Teacher Orientation  Develop, implement and conduct outreach sessions in the school communities  Attend several class sessions for the CTE adjunct courses and complete an evaluation each semester.  Communicate directly with Director of Curriculum with concerns, ideas and suggestions.  Assist Center Staff as needed in a professional and courteous manner  Perform other duties as assigned Temple University Position Description Revised April 2002 Page 3 of 3 Other Duties and Responsibilities As appropriate, support faculty/staff in other departments or units.
