Carpentry Instructor

Central Westmoreland Career and Technology Center (CWCTC) is seeking candidates for a Carpentry Instructor opening available in August for the 2020-2021 school year.

For this instructor position, we are seeking either experienced CTE Instructors or industry professionals to teach high school aged students; no teaching experience is required. We will assist the selected candidate(s) to obtain the proper clearances and permanent certification if necessary.

The potential candidate qualifications include: a minimum of four (4) years of full-time experience in the Carpentry field within the last 10 years, an intrinsic desire to work with high school students, as well as good organization and communication skills. Specific qualifications an individual needs to possess include: basic carpentry; all aspects of framing, siding and roofing; blueprint reading; and OSHA Safety requirements. Experience within the education community is a plus, but not a requirement.

Must be able to pass a pre-employment drug screen and obtain clean clearances as required by Acts 34, 114 and 151; PA Criminal Background, FBI Criminal Background, and Child Abuse History.
