A vacancy for an Introduction to Construction Instructor will exist beginning the 2020- 2021 school year.  The position is located at the Mount Joy campus of the Lancaster County Career & Technology Center.  The purpose of the Construction Instructor is to prepare high school juniors with an introduction to the basics in the construction trades. The Construction Instructor will teach students in the areas of safety, hand tools, plumbing, carpentry, HVAC, electrical, and painting. The Construction Instructor will provide students with access to industry-recognized certifications and explore careers to allow them to make an informed choice for a full-day senior program the following school year.




At least 4 years of recent experience in the carpentry field

Experience in with other construction fields such as electrical, HVAC and plumbing preferred

Be willing to complete college level coursework to obtain a vocational teaching certificate

Desire to work with high school students to promote success in the industry or at the post-secondary level

Child Abuse, PA State Criminal, and FBI Clearances within 1 year of hire date
