Position Description

Position Title: Supervisor Career and Technical Education

Qualifications/Certification:

1. Master’s Degree in education
2. Possess or be eligible for a PA Supervisor of Comprehensive Vocational Education Certificate
3. Minimum five (5) years of successful experience in a CTE environment
4. Experience and demonstrated skills in data analysis and data-driven decision making
5. Superior communication and interpersonal skills

Reports To/Supervised By: Director Career and Technical Education

Supervises: 1. Instructional Staff
2. Intervention Assistant to the Supervisor
3. Instructional Assistants
4. Secretaries

Works with other administrators in carrying out the day-to-day operation of the school as established by the JOC policy and administrative procedures.

Responsibilities:

1. Is knowledgeable of and works in compliance with the procedures and regulations of LCTI.
2. Supervise and evaluate Professional Staff and Programs.
3. Provide leadership to vocational instructors in order to improve curriculum, instructional materials, and teaching techniques.
4. Coordinate the budget building process for each assigned lab.
5. Coordinate the purchase of equipment, textbooks and other resource materials for assigned labs.
6. Monitor laboratory production policy and coordinate all associated work.
7. Monitor inventories for all laboratories.
8. Assist in interviewing and hiring new staff.
9. Coordinate with School-To-Work instructors to develop and approve internships.
10. Supervise and evaluate assigned instructional assistants and secretarial personnel.
11. Coordinate articulation of curriculum between Level 1 and Specialty Programs, as well as integration of academic and vocational skills.
12. Develops and implements a fair and consistent system for student discipline. Notifies and cooperates with the participating districts school officials, police personnel, and parent(s) or guardian(s) of students.
13. Coordinate the arrival, noontime supervision, and dismissal of students from participating schools.

 

14. Maintain student attendance policies
15. Serve as a liaison and resource person with Occupational Advisory Councils.
16. Conduct safety inspections and implement safety policies within the school.
17. Be responsible for issuing driving permits.
18. Submit attendance, discipline, safety, and PDE required reports.
19. Serve on school and related committees.
20. Serve as a liaison and resource person on IEP Team meetings.
21. Supervise career and technical student organizations
22. Coordinate and conduct parental conferences.
23. Participate as a member of the LCTI Crisis Assistance Team.
24. Maintains professional knowledge through attendance at selected conferences, readings of professional journals or memberships in professional organizations.
25. Establishes positive public relations within and outside the school.
26. Maintains a positive relationship with sending district personnel.
27. Perform other duties as assigned.

Terms of Employment:

 Length of Work Year: Ten (10) months
