COMMUNICATIONS AND OUTREACH COORDINATOR
The York County School of Technology is seeking a full-time Communications and Outreach Coordinator to join the Management Team. This is a 12-month, salary position. The salary range for this position begins at $45,000, adjusted commensurate with qualifications and experience.

Job Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
• Develop, implement and maintain a school-wide Marketing Plan and Communications Plan.
• Manage the “first impression” of the School, including but not limited to, coordinating showcases, display areas, school marquee, displays for technical and academic programs, etc.
• Develop and coordinate the distribution of accurate and timely information including booklets, handbooks, video presentations, calendars, newsletters, recruitment information (i.e. Guide to Technical Programs, Video, Course Selection Guide) etc. for the high school programs, and act as a consultant for Adult & Continuing Education and Adult Nursing Programs to highlight their programs.
• Manage the OneCallNow system as it pertains to automated notifications on school closures, delays, and necessary informational updates to parents, students, and/or staff.
• Serve as a liaison when needed for press releases/media, visitors, dignitaries, Joint Operating Committee members, and the general public. Work with the Administrative Director during emergency situations that may arise where media contact is expected.
• Coordinate an ongoing program of news releases and media coverage showcasing student accomplishments and activities (i.e. honor roll, students of the month, awards programs, homecoming, prom, Community service projects, commencement, etc.)
• Utilize social media platforms to disseminate information, announcements, student accomplishments, and to promote the school. Monitor responses for appropriateness.
• Coordinate dissemination of information regarding and planning of activities such as Career Camp, American Education Week, Student of the Month, Career & Technical Education Week, Teacher Appreciation Week, NOCTI, etc.
• Work cooperatively with the Technology Department to continually offer an accurate and innovative School website.
• Work under the direction of the Director of Student Services or appropriate administrator to coordinate the following:
o Recruiting of students
o Orientation of new students
o Communication with sending districts
o Open House
o Prospective student tours
o Awards Programs
o Graduation
o Back to School Night
• Develop handouts or presentations for the Joint Operating Committee to highlight new and existing programs at the school. Attend and present at monthly JOC meetings, and attend other evening meetings/events as directed.
Candidates will preferably have two or more years of experience in public relations or a comparable field. Possession of a degree in public relations, communications, or a related field is preferred. They must demonstrate a high level of organizational skills, strategic thinking, self-motivation, and utilization of team input. Experience with Microsoft Office products as well as layout and presentation software such as Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, etc. is required. As this position manages our social media accounts, candidates should be familiar with accounts such as Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram, and its appropriate use for disseminating business information and announcements.
