Type: Full-Time

Start Date: 2019-2020 School Year

Service Occupations Education Teacher

 

Specific Requirements:

·       PDE Certification in Family & Consumer Science, Special Education, and/or a hospitality-related degree.

·       Attention to detail, time management, organization and leadership skills are paramount

·       Creativity, energy, and enthusiasm in working with students of varying ability levels 

·       A desire to work with and motivate high school students in seeking competitive employment

·       A willingness to develop relationships and partnerships with business and industry

·       Management and oversight of the classroom and its equipment and materials

·       Understanding of relevant educational technology and applications

·       Strong communication and interpersonal skills

 

Preferred:

·       Employment experience in the hospitality industry

·       Experience in management/employee supervision

·       Fluency in English/Spanish

 

 

Instructional Support Positions

 

Culinary Arts Instructional Assistant

 

The Instructional Assistant supports the learning process of the students by assisting the program teacher during classroom instruction and hands-on activities.

 

Specific Requirements:

·       High School Diploma is required

·       Post-Secondary Culinary degree/diploma

·       Good communication, organization and interpersonal skills

·       Assist students with written assignments, tests, comprehending written technical data and performing services as a “side-by-side” supporter

·       Fluency in English/Spanish preferred   

 

Paraprofessional

 

The Paraprofessional supports student learning by providing one-on-one or small-group tutoring and instructional assistance under the direct supervision of the program teacher.

 

Specific Requirements:

 

·       High School Diploma is required

·       Good communication, organization and interpersonal skills

·       Assist students with written assignments, tests, comprehending written technical data and performing services as a “side-by-side” supporter

·       Fluency in English/Spanish preferred   

 

 

Substitute Teachers

 

Specific Requirements:

 

  • Substitute teachers are being sought for all 31 program areas supported by the Center.  Ideal candidates may be certified secondary education teachers, retired CTE teachers or classroom aides, or individuals with extensive work experience who can demonstrate the capacity to support student skill attainment.  (see www.rmctc.org for program listing).    

 

 

General Requirements for All Applicants:

 

·       Eligibility to obtain PDE-related Act 34, Act 151, and FBI clearances

·       Pass a physical and drug screen test
