POSITION: Instructor of Diesel Technology

LOCATION: Upper Bucks County Technical School, Perkasie, PA

STARTING DATE: Start of 2019-2020 school year

POSITION REQUIREMENTS: PDE (Vocational Level II) Instructional Certification preferred (Diesel Mechanics 2025). Minimum of 5 years of experience in an industry related to diesel engine mechanics, suspension and steering, brake systems, electrical and electronic systems, preventive maintenance inspections, drive trains, HVAC systems, and auxiliary equipment installation and repair. CIP code 47.0613.

The Diesel Equipment Technology Instructor prepares students for an entry-level position in the diesel repair industry. The Diesel Equipment Technology Instructor will teach students in the areas of safety, diesel engines, brake systems, preventative maintenance, inspection, fuel system, air induction and exhaust systems, cooling systems, lubrication systems, cab and hood, instruments and controls, batteries and starting systems, drive train, electronics, frame and coupling devices, suspension and steering, wheels, and tires. The Diesel Instructor will help students ready themselves for an internship or co-op experience, as well as prepare students for success on industry-recognized certification exams.
