Effective for the 2019-2020 school year a vacancy for a Computer Information Systems Instructor exists at the Technical College High School (TCHS) Brandywine Campus in Downingtown, within the Career, Technical & Customized Education (CTCE) division of the Chester County Intermediate Unit.

Summary of Position:
Provide quality occupational instruction to secondary career and technical students to prepare them for a successful career path in the field of Computer Information Systems, with a specific focus on networking.


Possess valid Pennsylvania Department of Education (Vocational I or II) Certificate or qualify to enroll in a certification program, and have successfully completed the appropriate Occupational Competency Assessment
A minimum of four (4) years of experience in programming and/ or computer sciences required, per PDE guidelines
Proficient knowledge in a minimum of two (2) computer languages required
Experience working with young adults, preferred
PA Criminal Clearance, FBI Clearance and Child Abuse Clearance dated within one (1) year of start date

Duties and Responsibilities:
Program development
Maintain and practice an effective safety program within the curriculum
Consistent and effective program recruitment
Effective supervision of all students at the TCHS
Maintaining and modifying curriculum to remain current and up to date
Developing and maintaining a productive Occupational Advisory Committee
Maintenance of appropriate professional certificate(s) and licenses as required
Maintenance of appropriate industrial certifications on a regular basis
Developing and maintaining a positive production account
Other assignments requested by the principal or designee

2019-2020 Salary:
$49,559 to $81,214 - Emergency/Intern Certification (coming in with industry experience)
$51,181 to $83,466 - Vocational I Teaching Certification
$53,464 to $86,855 - Vocational II Teaching Certification
$55,027 to $90,902 - Vocational II Teaching Cert + 15
$56,949 to $94,953 - Masters
$59,472 to $98,737- Masters + 15
$60,793 to $100,548 - Masters + 30

10-month, school year (194 days), 7.5 hours per day Monday through Friday
