Media Specialist

Type: full-time

The York County School of Technology is seeking an innovative professional for our Media Center. We are seeking a creative professional with knowledge and skills as follows:

• School library program management and leadership, including material selection, resource development, curation of materials, and budget management.
• Utilize Learning Management Systems (i.e. Schoology) to compile and curate curricular resources to support curriculum, instruction, and a variety of learning levels and processes.
• Leadership in the field of information literacy and digital citizenship.
• Serve as a collaborative liaison between students, teachers, online information, curriculum, and instruction.
• Develop and enhance experiential exploration/learning within the media center.
• Provide innovative and student-centered approaches to modern school library development and evolution.
• Create and maintain a welcoming and inclusive space for students to engage in literary and other creative activities.
• Develop a Resource Center for individual and group research activities.
PDE teacher certification in Library Science is required. A certificate of public librarianship alone does not qualify an individual for this position.

The York County School of Technology is a comprehensive technical high school, offering career and academic instruction to approximately 1,700 students from 14 sending school districts across York County. We offer a full athletic program, a wide variety of student organizations and clubs, and cooperative education opportunities. Students earn numerous industry credentials for their technical skills prior to graduation.
