Payroll & Benefits Specialist

At the present time, a vacancy for a Payroll & Benefits Specialist exists within the Business Office of the Lancaster County Career & Technology Center.  This position will be located at the Willow Street Campus.

Position Summary:

The Payroll Specialist is responsible for all aspects of preparing, submitting, and reporting of the LCCTC payroll.  This position is also responsible for many aspects of benefit administration and works closely with Human Resources.  The Payroll Specialist communicates with employees, reports, coordinates, and maintains all benefit records – including health, dental, vision, life and disability insurance, retirement, new hire, Unemployment Compensation, Workers Compensation, employee deductions, and leave balances.  Accounts Receivable duties include reviewing, entering and depositing all receipts, and invoicing.  This position will serve as backup to the Accounts Payable – Administrative Assistant.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent with some post-secondary education preferred
  • 1 to 3 years’ experience in payroll, accounting, and/or benefit administration
  • Ability to maintain the confidentiality of sensitive employee/employer information
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Excellent typing and computer skills; particularly Excel, Word, adding machine, and telephone communications.
  • Excellent customer service

 Payroll Processing

  1. Collect time sheets and adjust timecard entries as necessary
