Community Resource Developer/Perkins Coordinator

Are you creative, dedicated, supportive, organized, and interested in strengthening career technical education opportunities for high school students? Do you have the ability to deliver content through a variety of student recruitment channels to promote DCTS programs of study through email blasts, digital video, print, high school events, and other event opportunities?

We are looking for someone that has high marketing and organization skills that can develop an annual marketing plan and promote DCTS to high school students at Delaware County schools.

In this position you will:
• Communicate with key stakeholders to include students, parents, staff, post-secondary partners, business and industry, government and community (e.g. serves on advisory committees and partnership projects with post-secondary) for the purpose of defining roles and assisting faculty in aligning curriculum to form articulation agreements with post-secondary schools so that student may earn articulated credit for their work at DCTS.
• Serve as a Team Leader for the recruitment team (e.g. organizes and conducts recruitment meetings, implements marketing strategies to include print, video, and electronic media) for the purpose of meeting DCTS goals, providing career and technical education opportunities to new students, and increasing participation of under-served and non-traditional students.
• Serves as Team Leader for the purpose of developing a recruitment schedule in collaboration with the sending school districts and the recruitment team including specialized recruitment efforts for specific programs.
• Coordinate all promotional materials (e.g. annual DCTS Course Guide, promotional brochures for individual programs, photo and video production; develops and maintains content for DCTC website) for the purpose of supporting and promoting DCTS programs.
• Coordinate outreach opportunities (e.g. assemblies, special presentations, other events such as the Summer Career Exploration Camps; Career Days, OAC meetings,) for the purpose of promoting and improving achievement at the DCTS.
• Develop and maintain methods for collecting program data for Perkins (e.g. compiles research and data for various reports and initiatives; creates and compiles Perkins survey; locates DCTS graduates to identify current educational/occupational achievements; contacts post-secondary schools to obtain feedback on credits earned) for the purpose of ensuring the efficient functioning of the program
• Coordinate research and grant development and corresponding budget proposals (e.g. Perkins, equipment grants, workforce and economic development, STEM, and other education grants) for the purpose of supporting Career and Technical Education initiatives.
• Complete grant reports, including compiling narratives, assurances, and final expenditures for the purpose of assuring compliance with grants and partnership agreements.
• Serve as a Community Resource Developer, representing DCTS and DCIU (e.g. developing partnerships, presenting to and participating on advisory committees for career and technical education; coordinate meetings, campus tours and in-services as necessary; serve as liaison between DCTS and DCIU as necessary; develop partnerships with area businesses; present updates to Local Advisory Committee (LAC) members and actively participates on Occupational Advisory Committee (OAC), develops business/industry database for NOCTI performance evaluators) for the purpose of supporting the DCIU/DCTS initiatives

Skills and Abilities:
Skills are required to perform single, technical tasks with a need to occasionally upgrade skills in order to meet changing job conditions. Specific skill-based competencies required to satisfactorily perform the functions of the job include: analyzing; customer service; effective listening; interpersonal aptitude; facilitating meetings; managing projects/programs; problem solving. Strong computer skills, especially in Microsoft Office (Word, PowerPoint, Excel), and a working knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite are required.

Ability is required to schedule activities, meetings, and/or events; gather, collate, and/or classify data; and use job-related equipment. Flexibility is required to independently work with others in a wide variety of circumstances; work with data utilizing defined and similar processes; and operate equipment using defined methods. Ability is also required to work with a significant diversity of individuals and/or groups; work with a variety of data; and utilize job-related equipment. Problem solving is required to identify issues and create action plans. Problem solving with data requires independent interpretation of guidelines; and problem solving with equipment is limited to moderate. Specific ability-based competencies required to satisfactorily perform the functions of the job include: adaptability/flexibility; meeting schedules/deadlines; communication with persons of diverse backgrounds/knowledge/skills; innovation; multi-tasking; organizing; teamwork; grant writing and management.

Education - Bachelor’s degree required; marketing, advertising, or related field highly preferred
