Computer Information Systems Instructor

Type: full-time

Start Date: January 2019

A vacancy for a Computer Information Systems Instructor will exist at the Technical College High School (TCHS) Pennock's Bridge Campus in West Grove, within the Career, Techical & Customized Education (CTCE) division of the Chester County Intermediate Unit. This vacancy will occur on January 2, 2019.

Summary of Position:
Provide quality occupational instruction to secondary career and technical students to prepare them for a successful career path the field of Computer Information Systems.

Qualifications:
• Possess valid Pennsylvania Department of Education (Vocational I or II) Certificate or qualify to enroll in a certification program, and have successfully completed the appropriate Occupational Competency Assessment
• A minimum of four (4) years of experience in programming and/ or computer sciences required, per PDE guidelines
• Proficient knowledge in a minimum of two (2) computer languages required
• Experience working with young adults, preferred
• PA Criminal Clearance, FBI Clearance and Child Abuse Clearance dated within one (1) year of start date
Duties and Responsibilities:
• Program development
• Maintain and practice an effective safety program within the curriculum.
• Consistent and effective program recruitment.
• Effective supervision of all students at the TCHS.
• Maintaining and modifying curriculum to remain current and up to date.
• Developing and maintaining a productive Occupational Advisory Committee.
• Maintenance of appropriate professional certificate(s) and licenses as required.
• Maintenance of appropriate industrial certifications on a regular basis.
• Developing and maintaining a positive production account.
• Other assignments requested by the principal or designee.
Salary:
$49,364 to $80,894 - Emergency/Intern Certification (coming in with industry experience)
$50,979 to $83,137 - Vocational I Teaching Certification
$54,810 to $90,543 - Vocational II Teaching Certification


Schedule:
10 month, school year (194 days), 7.5 hours per day Monday through Friday
