Eastern Region PACTT Supervisor

Type: full-time

The individual will perform advanced professional and supervisory work within the Bureau of Juvenile Justice Services' (BJJS) Pennsylvania Academic and Career Technical Training (PACTT) Alliance. The incumbent serves as a regional supervisor and is responsible for: Prioritizing the work of employees; providing them with guidance, supervision and training; evaluating employee's performance and working with them to ensure their ongoing development. This supervisory work occurs while subordinates perform consultative, advisory, evaluative, development, quality assurance and monitoring duties.

The incumbent ensures that PACTT's work and that of its employees maintains a focus on the overall improvement of educational, employment and related transitional services for youth involved with the juvenile justice court system. When performing this work the incumbent works with representatives from public and private human service agencies in community-based and out-of-home settings; juvenile courts; teachers, school district administrators, and local career and technical training centers; business owners and managers; trades and labor union representatives; county, state, federal agencies and various other stakeholders.

The incumbent works to ensure that system-involved youth have opportunities to participate in workforce development skill training programs; become economically self-sufficient; participate in remedial academic programming; and participate in work-related experiences. Additional work focuses on creating and maintaining pathways for the reciprocal exchanges of information and academic credit retrieval between home schools and facilities; aligning provider's high school curricula to meet passing grade standards established by the Pennsylvania Department of Education; and improving the likelihood of successful re-entry back into the community, home school, and/or workplace through transitional planning.

The incumbent directly supervises Adjudicated Youth Education Programs Consultants (AYEPC) located throughout PACTT's Eastern Region. Supervision of these employees and the incumbent's other job duties requires a high degree of travel. Although the work occurs primarily within the incumbent's region, travel may be required to other locations within the Commonwealth as determined necessary. Work is performed with a high degree of independence and will be reviewed through regular supervisory conferences and direct observation
