Special Education Learning Facilitator

Special Education Learning Facilitator:

Central Westmoreland Career and Technology Center (CWCTC) has a Special Education Learning Facilitator opening available in late August 2018 for a grant-funded pilot program beginning in the 2018-2019 school year.

This pilot program, entitled “Transitions for Life and Careers”, is geared towards a specific population of students with disabilities that could benefit from an extra layer of support services. This program will better prepare students for a successful transition into employment opportunities through a combination of general safety and employability training, as well as specific skills within the building trades pathway.

Candidate qualifications include:
• PA Certification in Special Education
• A minimum of three (3) years teaching experience; preferably at the high school level
• Experience in Career and Technical Education is highly preferable

Specific qualifications include the ability to:
• Support students with disabilities in both a classroom and laboratory environment
• Provide both push-in and pull-out services
• Implement and monitor IEP SDI
• Highly motivated and able to meet timelines
• Good organization and communication skills
