Job Description: Are you an Information Technology professional who is looking to teach and train future Information Technology professionals? The York County School of Technology is looking for a new high school instructor to complement and evolve our expanding Information Technology Academy.
We are looking for an enthusiastic, creative, and flexible teacher who is willing to enhance the IT Academy program to meet student needs and interests while providing a strong foundation that will enable students secure multiple industry related certifications prior to graduation as well as be prepared for Post-Secondary opportunities and be prepared for the ever evolving future Information Technology workforce positions.
Preferred candidates will possess the following:
**A Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology or a related field is strongly preferred.
**Related IT industry certifications.
**Pennsylvania CTE Teaching certification in an IT field is preferred. Individuals who are not already certified teachers must have a minimum of 4 years (or equivalent) of paid work experience in the field of information technology, and will need to complete all necessary coursework and testing requirements through Penn State to obtain a teaching certificate.
**Preferred candidates will have knowledge and skills related to industry hardware, software, and networking experience.
**YCST may also consider candidates who have a programing or a computer science background.
The individual hired for this position will collaborate with three other Information Technology teachers to teach an ever-evolving curriculum covering a variety of skills and competency areas: YCST students experience the following curriculum throughout their four year study:
**Computer design, maintenance, and repair
**Hardware and software systems and maintenance
**Network architecture and administration
**Cybersecurity
**Programming in a variety of language, including HTML, CSS, Python, and Java
