2008 Summer Leadership Conference Call for Workshop Proposals
The 2008 Pennsylvania Association of Career and Technical Administrators Summer Leadership Conference will be held July 30-August 1, 2008 at the Nittany Lion Inn in State College. The theme of the conference is Career and Technical Education: Leadership for Success.
In addition to featuring outstanding general session speakers, a number of small group workshops and presentations will be offered. The small group presentations provide an opportunity for you to share your best practices with colleagues. Workshops will be one or two hours in length. Members are encouraged to work with colleagues from other institutions to plan workshops. All small group workshops/presentations will be scheduled on July 31.
The new Perkins Act and the State Board Chapter 4 Regulations and 339 Standards present career and technical administrators with a number of challenges to meet. We are especially interested in workshops which focus on best practices that:
- integrate academic standards
- increase academic achievement
- increase technical skill achievement
- increase school completion and graduation
- increase nontraditional participation and completion
- improve student transition to careers and postsecondary
