Preparing Students for the Workforce of Tomorrow: An Education and Workforce Development Symposium will be held February 5 and 6, 2008 at the Hershey Lodge and Convention Center. The Symposium is being sponsored by the Pennsylvania Association of Career and Technical Administrators in cooperation with the Pennsylvania Department of Education and twelve other agencies and associations. The sixteenth annual Symposium will begin at 12:30 p.m. on February 5 and will conclude at Noon on February 6. In addition, two pre-sessions will be held beginning at 9:00 a.m. on February 5. Approximately 500 participants attended the Symposium last year. We are expecting a similar attendance this year.

The Symposium will have a commercial exhibit area that will operate on February 5 from 8:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. Exhibitors will be able to set up after 6:00 p.m. on February 4 or from 7:00 a.m. to 8:00 a.m. on February 5. Each symposium participant will have multiple opportunities to visit the exhibit area. All breaks and the evening reception will be held in the exhibit area. Each exhibitor will be provided with one eight foot long skirted table. The cost per table will be $450.

Exhibit reservations will be accepted on a first come first serve basis. Reservations should be made by December 1, 2007. If you wish to participate in the Symposium please complete the registration form and send it along with a check made out in the correct amount to the address listed on the form.

Also, please be sure the check out the forms regarding telephone, high speed internet access, and electrical service. Arrangements for these services should be made directly with the Hershey Lodge. Addresses and telephone numbers to make appropriate arrangements are listed on each form.

A block of rooms has been reserved for Symposium participants at a special rate of $130 single or double occupancy. Reservations may be made by calling (717) 533-3311. Identify yourself as part of the PACTA Symposium and refer to group number PAV0204 when making your reservation in order to receive the special rate. Make your reservations by January 4, 2008. Reservations made after that date will be on an as available basis at regular rates.
